Apply For Scholarships
This information is for all scholarships managed by the Willow Glen Education Foundation (WGEF). A variety of scholarships are available to graduating Willow Glen High School* seniors including need-based and merit-based scholarships. The requirements and available scholarships are listed below.

Scholarship Requirements & Instructions
1.
All WGEF applications are due by Friday, March 7, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. No exceptions will be made for late applications.
2.
You can apply for as many scholarships as you qualify for. The information below will be used for all scholarships, but some may require additional details and requirements.
3.
Provide an essay of 350 to 1000 words:
Suggested topics include:
- Challenges or obstacles you have faced
- Your education and career plans or goals
- Describe what it means to be a positive member of a community
Important Notes:
- You can submit an essay you’ve already written for a college application or class, or write a new one.
- The essay must be entirely your own work – AI-generated essays will not be accepted.
4.
Include a copy of your transcript.
Please note, that this copy MUST include the first semester of your senior year.
Steps:
- Transcripts can be found on Infinite Campus. Log into sjusd.onelogin.com then click the Infinite Campus tile.
- Once logged in, navigate to the Menu on the left and select Documents.
- Scroll down to San Jose Custom Transcripts.
- Important: Before attaching the file, block out your picture and name to ensure your application remains anonymous.
5.
Describe your personal accomplishments: Share your accomplishments from high school and showcase your unique strengths. The more detailed and specific you are, the more your application will stand out.
- School Activities: List all school activities you participated in during your time at WGHS, including the year(s) of participation and any additional details you’d like to share. Examples of school activities include Leadership, NHS, Mock Trial, Drama, Band, Athletics, and more. Highlight any officer positions you held or significant contributions you made to these groups.
- Awards of Recognition: List the name and year of any awards or recognitions you received during your time at WGHS. These can include achievements and awards in academics, athletics, community service, or other areas.
- Examples:
9th grade: Most Inspirational Award in Cross Country;
10th grade: Adobe Certification: Illustrator;
11th grade: AP Scholar with Honor Award;
11th grade: Thespian Award: 2022 Outstanding Performer
- Examples:
- Advanced Placement, honors, accelerated, or college classes: Please list any such classes you have taken at WGHS, online, or at community college.
- Community Volunteer Activities: List all activities you have participated in, including service with organizations such as Willow Glen Cares, Sacred Heart, Relay for Life, or others.
- Work Experience: Provide a list of your place(s) of employment, job responsibilities, the number of hours worked per week, and the duration of your employment at each job.
6.
Future Education Plans: Please provide:
- Schools you have applied to and please note (“accepted”, “not accepted”, “pending”, or “waitlisted”)
- Scholarships you have been awarded from the school you will attend or other organizations
- The two-year, four-year college, or technical school you plan to attend, if known
- The career path or field of study you are considering

Review Individual Scholarships and Prepare Additional Information: Each individual scholarship requires some additional information in the application. Review individual scholarship details and have the requested information ready.

Please have all of the information ready before beginning your application submission process so that you can just copy and paste the relevant information into the form.
All scholarship applications are applied for within the single application form. You will enter your common information as described above, and then for each scholarship you are applying for, you will include some additional required information.
